Safari chairs are lightweight and flexible seating–typically, they can be easily assembled and disassembled, and the joinery is such that the chair will balance itself on uneven ground.

Erik Worts’ high back iteration of the classic safari chair is quite beautiful. The oak legs are slender and curvaceous, there is a cushioned headrest and loose seat cushion, and the dark burgundy leather overall is soft and wonderfully aged. Manufactured by Niels Eilerson of Denmark in the late 1950s-early 1960s.
