Ludvig Pontoppidan started out as an apprentice in the Danish Cabinetmakers’ Guild. There he learned the skills which would make him a master builder, producing his own designs as well as those of Nanna Ditzel, Borge Mogensen, Finn Juhl and in this case Denmark’s most famous unknown designer, Ejvind Johansson. Like Pontoppidan, Johansson trained in the arts of traditional cabinetmaking, and his designs embody a balance between form and function that is timelessly appealing. This is Johansson’s design executed by Pontoppidan.

Completely restored, and recovered in curly shearling and leather buttons.
