Adrien Audoux and Frida Minet, contemporaries of Modernist designers Charlotte Perriand and Pierre Chareau among others, designed prolifically in 1940s and 50s. Their aesthetic was rustic and playful, suitable to the Provençal region (near Vallauris, where Picasso’s pottery was produced) where they had a retail location.
The bentwood frame of this curvaceous lounge chair has been completely restored. The woven rope seat and back are original.
