A jizaikagi is the hook from which an iron kettle for making tea is suspended, and is found in the heart of the home above the irori or sunken hearth where a family gathers and guests are welcomed.
This is a fantastic example of the traditional form representing Daikoku, or the god of wealth and guardian of farmers. It is artfully carved from a solid block of Keyaki wood with beautiful grain.
It brings to a Western interior the quality of modern sculpture.
