“It’s important to get to the essence of the furniture’s functionality.”

Mogens Koch was a student of Kaare Klint and, like Klint, he looked to the past for inspiration. He also studied mathematics and proportions, looking for practical and timeless solutions to design problems.

His modular case pieces, combining cabinets and cubbies, are a perfect example of his Functionalist approach. Observe how he makes use of the space above hanging shirts and jackets by adding diagonal shelves–for hats, perhaps. The hanger bar slides out for easy access to clothes hung toward the back of the cabinet.

In beautiful vintage condition.
