Hans Wigert (1932–2015) was a Swedish painter known for his expressive and atmospheric paintings, often inspired by the dramatic coastal environment of northern Sweden. Born in Motala, he studied at the Royal Swedish Academy of Fine Arts under Staffan Hallström, Bror Marklund, and Evert Lundquist from 1959 to 1965. Over the course of his career, his paintings have been included in numerous exhibitions both in Sweden and internationally. In 2004, he was honored with the Prince Eugen Medal for artistic achievement. His paintings are held in several prominent museum collections, and his work continues to inform the evolving identity of Scandinavian art.
“Landskap Vallen” in Swedish can refer to a meadow or pasture.
