Arne Norell was one of the rare designers who both conceived and fabricated his own furniture. During the mid-20th century, his was a household name in European interior design, known for his use of leather, metal, and wood to produce inventive and comfortable furniture.

His ‘Krister’ chair is one of his more iconic designs. Typical of his use of unexpected detail, the grid of blind tufting adds a playful touch on an otherwise classical form. The base is made of stained beechwood, and the chair has been newly upholstered in a heavy-weight white linen.
