Ashanti stools, or Asante stools, are sacred cultural symbols among the Ashanti people of Ghana, representing power, status, and the soul of the owner. Rooted in legend, the Ashanti empire was founded when a golden stool descended from the heavens onto the lap of the first king, Osei Tutu, marking stools as divine symbols of authority. Carved from a single piece of indigenous wood, each stool carries unique designs and stories, and is passed down through generations as a treasured heirloom.
This is example has a complex geometry and excellent patina.
