Bruno Mathsson descended from five generations of master cabinetmakers in Sweden. He experimented with the techniques of bent laminated wood, gaining the skills to make components of great strength with gracefully executed minimalist details. He was strongly influenced by the Functionalist movement, and was obsessed with the quality of different materials and fabrication techniques. His “Annika” tripod table has subtly rounded and tapered birch legs and a circular top of expressive walnut veneer. The rounded edge of the top is a beautiful detail. Produced by Firma Karl Mathsson.
