Ceramic Vessels by Nobue Ibaraki
JAPAN
Glazed earthenware
Sizes range from 2″ to 11″ high
Nobue Ibaraki builds these earthenware vessels one at a time by hand in her studio in Tochigi, Japan. The glazes contain cobalt, copper and other metal oxides, which react to the heat of the kiln and allow her to achieve an extraordinary surface quality. The simple, classical forms and subtle colors evoke both the modern still lifes of Giorgio Morandi and objects that have weathered the elements since antiquity. Each piece is unique. This is just a sampling of what’s available in our Long Island City gallery.
We are very pleased to offer Nobue’s work to New York collectors.
