This sumptuous settee exemplifies Carl-Johan Boman’s mastery of furniture design. A work of functional sculpture, restored and reupholstered in a shiitake-colored mohair.

After graduating from the Royal College of Art and Design in Berlin, Carl-Johan Boman (1883-1969) worked for his father as Artistic Director of the Boman Furniture Factory. The factory was a leading manufacturer of fine furnishings, fitting out stylish homes in Finland and Russia. Eventually, Carl took over the factory, leading the company in the more modern direction for which it became renowned.
