Denmark
Circa 1940
Elm, mohair velvet upholstery
30 1/2″ wide x 35 1/2″ deep x 41″ high (17″ seat height)

A sophisticated lounge chair by Børge Christian Christoffersen with a high back and gently embracing wings. The curved armrests, tapering towards the back of the chair, widen at the front, a perfect surface to rest one’s forearm, martini in hand. Elm is an unusual choice for Danish furniture of this era, and the grain is beautifully figured. Restored and upholstered in a charcoal mohair velvet.
