Frits Henningsen Mahogany Side Table
Denmark
1940s
Mahogany
23 1/2″ diameter, 24″ high
Frits Henningsen was both a furniture designer and a cabinet-maker. This meant that, unlike most designers of the period, he was deeply involved in every aspect of a work’s execution.
This beautiful side table is a fine example of his fascination with Classical design and English cabinetmaking technique. The minimal raised profile and hidden joinery highlight the fine Cuban Mahogany surface.
