Hans Agne Jakobsson (1919-2009) was a Swedish interior and furniture designer known primarily for his lighting designs, which played with a diverse range of materials and forms. He began his career as a carpenter before working as an industrial designer at General Motors. He then became the assistant to designers Carl Malmsten and Werner West. In 1951, he established his own company ‘Hans-Agne Jakobsson AB’ in Markaryd, Sweden.
This particular fixture was produced by Hans-Agne Jakobsson in the 1950s. The light filters through the opaline glass casting a warm glow on the surface behind it. Its sleek shape and simple brass frame make it a timeless classic.
