Kaare Klint is commonly considered the father of modern Danish furniture. Klint carefully researched his designs, basing them on functionality, human proportions, craftsmanship, and materials and techniques of the highest quality. As a result of the furniture school he founded at the Royal Academy in 1924, Klint inspired such designers as Poul Kjærholm and Børge Mogensen.
This wonderfully proportioned coffee table is built of solid Cuban mahogany, with a single shelf below and a height perfectly suited to actually having coffee. The surface quality of the wood has an almost liquid appearance, creating a mesmerizing illusion of depth.
