A finely cast, pear shaped bronze vase coated with copper oxide (aka “malachite”) encrustation. Made in Korea during the Koryo dynasty (AD 936-1392). It is something of a miracle to us that a fragile object such as this travels through history to arrive intact in our gallery, and share its gorgeous surface with anyone who takes the time to notice.
