W/ Applied and Incised Floral Decoration: 28 1⁄2” high

These charming wrought iron ash shovels are adorned with finely engraved and cut Maltese cross and floral motif, respectively. The stems are twisted and end with ornamented handles: one has a “melon” knob with a baluster-shaped neck, the other a “pinecone” that emerges from a beaded grip. The surface is warmly burnished. Evidently the work of a skilled metalsmith, we propose these tools serve both decorative and functional use.

Sold as a pair or separately.
