Erik Ole Jørgensen
Denmark
1950s
Leather, chromed steel
27″ wide x 27″ deep x 26″ high (seat height 14″)

Born in 1925, Jørgensen trained as a saddler and upholsterer, working for Kaare Klint in the 1940s and ultimately founding his own workshop in 1954. This modern lounge chair was designed for the Danish retailer Bovirke, and exhibited at the Danish pavilion at the 1954 Milan Triennale. The deep saddle leather seat is slung from a chromed steel frame. The red leather edge is a sexy detail.
