Massimo Vignelli famously said, “If you can design one thing, you can design everything.” He and his wife Lella proved the truth of that statement in products ranging from the New York City subway map to this striking table lamp produced by the Italian lighting company Arteluce. They were staunch modernists, and insisted on the beauty of simplicity in all things.
Three bulbs distribute the light around the acrylic shade. The steel base with its minimalist curves is a pleasing counterpoint.
