Jacob Hermann (1910-1995) was a Danish furniture designer with an innate love of wood and craftsmanship. He started as a carpenter’s apprentice before graduating from the School of Arts and Crafts in Copenhagen as a furniture designer. He worked with wood in all media, from sculpture to housing construction.

This chair embodies some of our favorite characteristics of Danish furniture design from between the two World Wars: quality of construction, a gracefully curvaceous profile, and perfect proportions. Subtle notches in the front and back legs show the cabinetmaker’s hand and add a distinct touch. Newly upholstered in a soft Maharam wool bouclé.
