Ilmari Lappalainen trained first as a teacher of woodworking, then as an interior designer. Lappalainen’s designs are famously comfortable. This pair of lounge chairs are from his Laila series for Asko, where he was a designer from the late 1940s. They are fully restored and reupholstered in a Maharam bouclé.
