“When you see a room for the first time, your blood pressure should go up. I like to create an emotional experience. A well-designed space doesn’t give out its secrets right away. It should never bore you or feel dated.” John Saladino

John Saladino, born in Kansas City, Missouri, was a pioneering designer known for his distinctive blend of modern design and classicism. He founded his firm, Saladino Design Group Inc., in 1972 and launched Saladino Furniture Inc. in 1986, with a showroom in the New York Design Center. He designed homes domestically and abroad, most notably his own Montecito home, “Villa di Lemma.” He passed away earlier this year, leaving behind a lasting impact on the design community.

This pair of chairs were designed by John Saladino in the 1980s and produced by Baker Furniture. They feature a unique quilted seat and back pillow. The chair’s generous proportions make it the perfect location to curl up and read a book. Recently upholstered in a natural Belgian linen.
