Three bacchante-like figures encircle the stem of this lovely lamp, their bare feet balanced on its octagonal base. The shade appears to be from the same period, nicely matched to the patinated surface of the bronze. Signed.
Johan Ragnar Gellerstedt was a 20th century Swedish sculptor. This lamp was produced by the Herman Bergman foundry, which cast many bronze sculptures of Gellerstedt and his contemporaries.
Dimensions of the base without shade are 5″ x 4 1/2″ x 15″ high.
