We think this could be put to excellent use as a games table or writing desk. The symmetry in the design is so pleasing: the carving of the stretcher echoes that of the top, the knob at the top of the decorative post seems to point to the drawer pull. Beautifully turned legs. Later painted and restored, though there has been considerable time for the last coat of paint to wear nicely–notice where feet have rubbed the surface of the stretcher, revealing the color of the wood beneath.
