Swedish Grace was a brief period in the history of Swedish design, in which rigorous Neo-Classicism and Art Deco formed an exquisite hybrid. Simple lines are complemented by detailed gestures, ancient symbols and the use of rare and refined materials.
This beautifully constructed writing table is a prime example from the era. Reiners Möbelfabrik was known for employing exotic woods and imaginative design details, such as the two-tone birch veneered outlined with calamander. The four fluted, columnar legs are delicately carved and joined by a low stretcher.
